Obama supports scientific research

Obama has long been a supporter of scientific funding in the U.S. "My administration will increase funding for basic research in physical and life sciences, mathematics, and engineering at a rate that would double basic research budgets over the next decade. We will increase research grants for early-career researchers to keep young scientists entering these fields. " This and other promises made by Obama show that his initiative is to boost scientific research in the United States and shows how he worries about the lack of technical progress in the U.S as other countries pursue more and more technology oriented degrees. Obama also feels that the United States is under investing in the capabilities of the scientific and engineering spectrum and believes that this a severe problem that will continue to effect further generations of the U.S. Thus Obama is a key player in the current scientific community and supports further progress in this field.
